An old cantonese song with meaningful lyric.

The lyrics, from inkui:

(Repeat *)

la... la...
la... la...

Hakka Connexion

I don't know if there are a lot of Hakka people in Penang, but got to know from SN there is 客家擂茶 in town! After hiking, we went to Hakka Connexion for brunch.

As you can see, the shop is nicely oriental decorated.

Let's talk about some food now ;)

The dessert, yuba barley gingko nut 白果腐竹薏米 @ RM 2. Oh I've forgotten to ask KH/CM if it is nice :p AS and I ordered their home made nutmeg juice 豆蔻水 @ RM 1.50 per cup, I felt it is a bit sweet. HF, I missed your grandmom's homemade nutmeg juice still ;)

The Hakka noddle 客家面 @ RM 3 with homemade sauce. Hmm, I still like Ipoh Hakka's noodle :p But I felt this is smoother than that at Pantai Jerejak. Different chef will have different Hakka noodle preparation, with/without thick soy sauce. Remember to stir the noodle before eat as the sauce are all at the bottom.

The Hakka Lei Cha 客家擂茶 and its soup @ RM 6. I guess the ingredient are cabbage 包菜, bayam 芫菜, dried vegetable 菜圃, long bean 长豆, peanut 花生, and 树仔菜. The waiter recommends to pour the soup into the ingredients, stir and eat. But I have other preferences in eating Lei Cha. I like to get another small empty bowl, put in ingredient little by little, with sufficient soup. Then slowly adding the ingredient in any order I like :p Anyway, it is nicer than the other one I'd taken.

The Lei Cha soup base is a little bit different from those we'd eaten elsewhere. This soup is darker in colour. It has sesame inside also. I felt it is lack of mint taste.

This is the first time all of us tasted this noodle, don't know how to comment :p

Fried abacus 算盘子 @ RM 10. A dish made of yam. I still like WM's mom homemade abacus ;)

KH ordered Lei Cha and rice wine chicken for takeaway for SP :D

When we were almost done, the topic was about creativity. KH suggested a game (sort-of), each person took a picture from the same scenery, which is the decorative item rack from picture no. 4 above. Can you see where I took picture below? :p The plum flower is nicely drawn on the kettle. Oh yes, my chinese name contains the 梅 word ;) Will try to have this game in every upcoming gathering :D

To get there,

Busy?

How do you spend your free time? Whenever I heard people say "I have nothing to do and don't know what to do. So bored." I will say, there is so many things we can do, spend time with family, clean up, sports, reading, surfing, working, improve ourself bla bla bla. Although my life has been getting more and more busy, but I am feeling good. I guess probably this is the reason :)

How do you like Windows 7

Not to promote Microsoft Windows 7 :p Just some initial sharing on using it. Every time I see this 7, it will reminded me of Stephen Chow's movie CJ 7 长江7号 :p

From a user standpoint, the graphic is nice, and it is much faster compared to Vista. The user access security is less annoying compared to Vista also. I actually have not explore Vista much, just once or twice. One thing I found a bit frustrated is during user log in, I have to type the domain name by myself. Maybe this is done for security purpose, but if your PC name is not meaningful e.g. PSY12MB04 (could be assigned by your company IT :p ).

I saw some improvement on MS Paint, and the Snip Tool seems useful for me, I don't have to worry to run PrintKey in Windows 7 now. But I still prefer PrintKey, easier to use.

If running 32 bit application on 64 bit system, if your program failed to be installed, right click on the installer package and set the compatibility setting, let it run in older OS version e.g. XP.

From a programmer or software engineer perspective, it is just too troublesome to programming in 64 bit in terms of file system and registry view. The code posted by Microsoft doesn't seems to work at all :( Microsoft...

More to come, after I explore more.

"Car accident"

Recently have been getting few forwarded email that a New Black Toyota Vios PDX 2584 will tailgate a car then find chance to talk to the car owner saying his car was hit by the car in front. Sometimes this car appear at E-Gate or Bayan Lepas FIZ area car park place, saying car nearby him hit his car. In either case, he tried to request for compensation. If you see this guy, just requested him to go police station to file a report together. He will then probably scold you and run away. Not sure if this is true, but watch out, my friend.

Hike Penang Hill

It has been almost a year I've not hike Penang hill. So this time AS chosen an easier trail due to the request of few of us :p We use the jungle path of Youth Park -> No 3 -> No 5 -> No 84.

The city is in haze or polluted? I hope my readers can contribute to save our mother earth also, less air cond, more car pool, and 3R.

The weather has been too hot, some of the tree were burnt.

Toilet and resting hut can be found at both No 3 and No 5. At these hut, there are a lot of monkeys, watch out for your food and belonging. After No 5, I took a piece of banana quickly, and few monkeys came just right after I finish it. Luckily I throw the banana skin before they reached *whew* There was once KH pointed a monkey mommy with the monkey baby on his way down using tar road, the monkey daddy then chased KH and gang till they have to run down and hurt the knee *whew*.

First time seeing this kind of fungus.

KH pointed out the colorful pakis (fern) leave. This fern is in blue/green shining color, depending on the light source angle. It doesn't turn out nice in picture, hike Penang Hill to see it with your eyes :D

No 84 hut.

First time seeing MPPP worker to clear the road. They use a blower to blow the leave to the roadside, to clean the road.

Just realized the hawker center in front of Botanical Garden has moved and new project is going on. We shall see what is the new building then.

Things changed, so I wish to capture while possible, before it fade in memory :)

My Penang Chinese New Year Reunion Celebration Food Bazaar

Some food at food bazaar of My Penang Chinese New Year Reunion Celebration 2010

RM 6. I always missed Fui Ee's mom homemade Lei Cha ;) SN, I believe you also :D

Mua Ci 麻子 RM 3.

2 mini Murtabak, RM 2 each.

To purchase food, one must use coupon, which can be purchased at RM 20 per book. Some food bazaar I've been previously tasted bad and higher price. Food above tasted okay, although a bit pricey. All container used are recyclable, at least the state government is really putting some effort in saving our mother earth ;)

After the 'light dinner' we walked to the nearby hawker center for 'dinner' :p

Pasembur, looks nice, a bit spicy for me :)

Oyster pancake

Fried clam

My first time see some hawker sell items using car trunk.
